Workshop Outline – Sixth Annual Meeting & Workshop of the CNHH
June 6, 2019
Buchanan B 141, UBC Campus
The Canadian Network on Humanitarian History (CNHH) will be holding its annual meeting and workshop on June 6, 2019, in Buchanan B 141, between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. We invite all members of our network to join, either via Skype or in person. It is free to attend, but registration is required. Refreshments will be served.
We have made connections with the local NGO community through the BC Canadian Council of International Cooperation (BCCCIC) and have invited them into a discussion with us about the history of their organizations, the history of Vancouver in the development and humanitarian community in Canada, as well as what we can potentially offer to them in terms of thinking about their historical records.
As well, this will be our sixth year as a network, and our second as an affiliated committee with the Canadian Historical Association. The time seems right for self-reflection. We would like to invite you into a discussion about what the Network has accomplished, and what it has yet to do. Our field has changed quickly, and the CNHH has been a part of that change – where do we see our future? How can we collaborate with other affiliated committees of the CHA, or other organizations? What remains to be done? What are our strengths and weaknesses? We also invite members to give us updates on their own research projects, which is an excellent networking opportunity.
We hope you can join us for this important discussion about the future of the CNHH.
More information and registration can be found on the CNHH Workshop’s Eventbrite page or by contacting either Dominique Marshall or Jill Campbell-Miller.
