The NextGen database is a user-friendly online searchable inventory of more than 500 Canadian researchers from universities, colleges, institutes, think-tanks, and civil society organizations (CSOs) working on international development and humanitarian assistance! It is part of a broader three-year collaboration.
To join, just set up an account, and then search, edit or add a profile – following these simple instructions. (If your institution belongs to the Canadian Consortium for Colleges and University Programs in International Development Studies (CCCUPIDS), your profile has most likely already been created by our team.)
The database will:
- ALLOW YOU TO UPDATE AND PROMOTE your current areas of research focus.
- PROVIDE AN ACCESSIBLE PORTAL into your work to other Canadian academics, media, government, and civil society organizations.
- HELP ENABLE CROSS-SECTORAL AND CROSS-DISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIONS between academic and non-academic researchers working in similar sectors and areas.
- HELP STUDENTS IDENTIFY academics and research practitioners with shared research interest
CCIC and CASID officially launched the NextGen Database with Global Affairs Canada and the International Development Research Center (IDRC) at their annual conference, INFLUENCE INSPIRE INNOVATE, in September 2017.
